A rectangular flat plate frame carries a vertical perforated drum, and a programmable scraper automatically removes the cake from the drum bottom, ensuring every batch follows the same cycle time with minimal manual effort.

1. Feed: An inclined step feeder lays the suspension evenly across the drum wall, preventing unbalanced loads that cause machine vibration.
2. Spin-up: The V-belt or direct drive accelerates the drum, building centrifugal force that drives liquid through the medium.
3. Wash and dewater: Wash liquor is sprayed onto the rotating cake, followed by spinning to achieve target moisture levels.
4. Scrape and discharge: The drum slows, a radial and axially moving knife peels the cake away, and an air-assist line sweeps remaining solids through the bottom outlet.
